Sensorial Storytelling™ FOR THE SCALP
Where Hair Begins
At WoCo Studios, we believe the scalp deserves to be filmed with the same reverence usually reserved for skin. As the category redefines it as the origin of everything from density and strength to shine and resilience, capturing the scalp convincingly demands real intimacy, precision, and dermacosmetic expertise.
Our range in scalp ultra-macro runs deep. We shot Vichy Dercos blooming from water into foam through the coils of textured hair, rendered Vichy's Collagen 17 hair treatment in follicle-level detail, and captured Drybar's scalp serum and dry shampoo in extreme, tactile close-up. Across every project, our Sensorial Storytelling™ goes closest, turning dermacosmetic science into something an audience can feel through the screen.
Below is a curation of recent scalp-centric work that aligns with the Dove Dynasty project’s goals of ultra-macro Sensorial Storytelling™.
CASE STUDY 01: VICHY
VICHY Dercos
Water-to-Foam
VICHY worked with WoCo to develop a scalp-centric campaign, highlighting the formula’s innovation, a sudsing mechanism designed to deliver dandruff actives more effictively in coil-textured hair. Through our signature Sensorial Storytelling™ creative philosophy, WoCo developed the creative direction and visual language to communicate this new W2F formula in a series of social-first spots and stills.
Scope: creative direction, casting, set fabrication, production, foley-recording, sound design, delivery + finishing.

CASE STUDY 02:
L’OREAL PARIS
L'Oréal Paris Colorsonic
L'Oréal Paris brought WoCo in to assist in the launch Colorsonic, a first-of-its-kind at-home hair color device, around a single idea: better than hands alone. Because the product is defined as much by how it sounds and works as how it looks, we gave the device a bespoke sonic identity, composing its signature from its own voice: the click of the power button, the motion of its bristles, the quiet precision of the mechanism, layered into an electronic, high-tech palette and designed to picture. Through our signature Sensorial Storytelling™ creative philosophy, WoCo led the creative direction, visual language, and full sound design across a suite of social-first spots, giving an engineered device a sound stage as elevated as its finish.
Scope: creative direction, casting, production, ultra-macro cinematography, sonic identity + sound design, foley-recording, music direction, delivery + finishing.
"I've been watching the assets on Colorsonic unfold and am really impressed with where they've netted out."
— Associate VP, L'Oréal Paris
Drybar Scalp Serum & Dry Shampoo
Drybar worked with WoCo to open a new sensorial lane for the brand across two hero products: a targeted Scalp Serum and the signature Detox Dry Shampoo. The challenge was to make two largely invisible experiences feel tangible on screen: the serum working directly at the scalp and part line, and Detox's original vanilla scent reimagined as fields of soft texture and refracted light. Through our signature Sensorial Storytelling™ creative philosophy, WoCo developed the creative direction, ultra-macro visual language, and bespoke sound design to communicate each formula across a series of social-first spots and stills.
Scope: creative direction, hand-model casting, set design, production, foley-recording, sound design, delivery + finishing.
"Beautiful work Jaiden... you are a complete dream! THANK YOU."
— Creative Director @ Drybar
